We are happy to present Debbie Gioquindo otherwise known as the Hudson Valley Wine Goddess as a presenter for our Wine Seminars.
Debbie will appear at 3pm on Saturday Sept. 7 and at 3pm on Sunday Sept. 8.
Debbie Gioquindo, CTC, CSW, WLS is a marketing professional by day following her passion for wine. Her extensive background in PR and Marketing began in radio and moved on to emerging media as the industry changed. Following her passion she began a wine blog “Hudson Valley Wine Goddess” in 2006 with the intent to educate people about wine, that soon included a focus on the Hudson Valley Wine Region, her home.
Debbie combined her love of wine with her full time, day job in Community Relations and Marketing for a regional health insurance provider. In 2006 she became involved with the local wine industry as a marketing consultant for the Shawangunk Wine Trail. That later led to heading up the branding efforts of Hudson Valley Wine Country and elevating the awareness of the Hudson Valley wine region. Wanting more in 2010 she sat and passed the Certified Specialist of Wine exam administered by the Society of Wine Educators and in January 2012 she passed the Centers of Wine Origins, Wine Location Specialist exam in Port and Champagne.
After being downsized from her day job in 2010, she answered a tweet from Keryl Pesce, @TheHappyBitch about creating a wine label. Three tweets and 6 months later Debbie along with Keryl Pesce launched Happy Bitch Wines.
Today Debbie consults with wineries and small business on marketing and social media along with conducting wine education and tasting seminars. She is co-owner of Happy Bitch Wines and the chairperson of the Hudson Valley Wine & Spirits Competition.
