Attending New York Hard Cider Producers – 2017
New York hard cider interest is growing at a rapid pace, and our expanding list of hard cider vendors proves just that. Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed many new laws in the last decade to promote craft beverage making and New York state agriculture. Hard cider producers benefited from a 2011 farm wineries law, resulting in substantial industry growth. There was also a 2013 farm cideries law that licensed cideries using exclusively New York state crops.
Finding the best hard ciders in New York state is easy, and the Hudson Valley Wine & Food Fest makes it easier by bringing them to one location. Take a look at our attending hard cider producers in preparation for the festival, which takes place on September 9th & 10th at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds.

Our family owned orchard began in 1911 when George Skiff, an onion farmer on the North Side of Syracuse, and Andrew Beak, a dairy farmer, met at the farmers market and decided it would be fruitful to join forces and enter the emerging apple business. In 2001, we branched out by creating our line of Hard Ciders. Made from our own sweet cider these products have continued to grow in popularity each year.
Now in our fifth generation, we continue to make advancements and improvement in and around the orchard. In 2013, we planted almost 15,000 new trees and renovated our apple hill campus to provide our customers an even better apple picking experience. The Apple Hill Campus has also become home to our 1911 Tasting Room and Cafe. Our Apple Hill Campus is open from Thursday through Sunday, 11 AM – 5 PM.
